Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits. Mrs Anne Bain Anne, also known as "Mother Superior of Matron" joined the practice in February 2001, and ever since she has been trying to keep the Doctors and Patient's happy alike, not always an easy task! Reception is a busy, and multi-tasking is essential to deal with telephones, appointments, mail, scanning, prescriptions etc and all with a smile! Anne has her "favourites" but this changes daily. She is married with three children and five grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys walking, socialising, going on holiday and spending time with her family. She has several grand-children.
